Site work: the hours exist before anyone gets back to the office
On a site, the two things that break every system are the same two things: there is no office, and there is often no signal. Clocking has to survive both.
What usually goes wrong
- Timesheets written from memory on Friday afternoon, which are wrong by an hour in whichever direction suits the memory.
- Hours that cannot be attributed to a job, so the cost of the job is a guess until the invoice bounces.

Questions we get
Does it work with no signal on site?
Yes, two ways. A tablet in the site cabin with card clocking keeps working offline and uploads when it reconnects. On phones, the punch is held on the device and goes up when there is signal again. Nobody stands in a field waiting for a spinner.
Can we see which job the hours went to?
With the projects module, the person picks the job as they clock in, so the hours land on the right site without a paper timesheet on Friday. Planned against actual per job, and a CSV for invoicing.
Do we have to track where people are?
No, and it is off by default. If you switch on clocking places, the phone checks whether it is at the site at the moment of the punch — once, then not again. There is no continuous tracking, and the person sees it on screen before they tap.
