Production: shift changes do not wait for the network
On a shop floor, clocking is a queue problem before it is a data problem. Forty people change shift in five minutes, and anything that takes more than a second per person becomes a bottleneck at the door.
The shift change
- Card, not PIN. One second per person, no touchscreen, works with gloves — and it works when the connection does not, holding punches on the device and syncing later.
- Several terminals if you have several entrances, all feeding one record.
- Twelve languages, each person in their own as they clock in. On a mixed production team this removes most clocking mistakes on its own.
Three shifts, nights and premiums
- A shift from 22:00 to 06:00 stays one shift, counted on the day it started.
- Night, Sunday and public-holiday premiums calculated on the hours actually worked, with the night window and rates from your own agreement.
- Rotating patterns planned ahead, with the eleven-hour rest and weekly rest checked as you plan rather than after. The limits.
- Shift swaps between colleagues, recorded, so the line is covered and everyone can see by whom.
Hours against orders
With the projects module, people select the order or work centre as they clock in, so hours land against the job rather than being allocated afterwards by estimate. Planned against actual per order, while the order is still open, and a CSV for costing. It is usually the first time a workshop sees what a job really cost in labour rather than what it was quoted at.
What payroll and the office get
- Hours per person per day with breaks, and a monthly record to sign.
- An export with premiums already calculated. How the export works.

Can it handle three-shift operation?
Yes, including shifts that cross midnight, which stay one shift counted on the day they started. Night premiums apply to the hours inside the night window you define.
What about a line with no internet?
Card clocking on the tablet works with no connection and syncs when it returns. On a shop floor that is not a nice-to-have — it is the difference between a shift change happening and a queue at the door.

Does it work with gloves on?
The terminal keypad is built large for that, and a card needs no touchscreen at all — which is why most production customers end up on cards.
