Where your data lives and who can see it
Working time data says when each person arrives, when they rest and when they are off sick. It deserves to be treated as what it is.
Where it is stored
- On servers in Germany, under GDPR, encrypted in transit, backed up daily.
- Or on your own server, if you would rather it never left the building. How that works.
- Every company gets its own installation and its own database. We do not put customers in a shared database, so the bug that shows one company another company's data does not exist here.
Who sees what
Four roles out of the box: employee, supervisor, employee representative and administrator. An employee sees their own record; a supervisor sees their team; a representative sees what they are entitled to and no more. Every change lands in the audit log with who, when and what.
What we do not collect
- No fingerprints and no facial recognition. Why not.
- No screenshots, no activity scoring, no keystroke counting.
- No continuous location tracking: with clocking places switched on, the check happens at the moment of the punch and not again.
- The AI assistant works pseudonymised by default and never on health data.
Your employees’ rights
- Access: a full export of what is held about one person, with one button.
- Rectification: correction requests are built in; the original and the change are both kept.
- Erasure and retention: records are kept for as long as the law requires and can then be deleted in a controlled way.
- Portability: a full export in open formats, always, including after you stop being a customer.
Data processing agreement
When we host, we are the processor and you are the controller. The agreement is published and signed inside the program: Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag, in German. If you need an English copy for your records, write to time@irot.com.
Questions we get
Who can see an employee’s hours?
Only the people who should: that person, their manager and the office. The roles come ready made — management, supervisor, employee representative and employee — and every access is logged.
What if an employee asks for their data?
It exports with one button: everything held about that person, in a readable file. It is a right under GDPR and it should not cost anyone an afternoon.
Does this website use cookies?
No. This site sets no cookies and loads nothing from anyone else’s servers: no Google fonts, no embedded video, no trackers. That is also why you were never shown a cookie banner.
